FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A man has died after police say he was hit by a vehicle in central Fresno.
It happened around 5:45 am Tuesday at Fresno Street and Pine Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle and witnesses told police that the man went into the road, leading to the incident.
He was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died.
Police say the driver is cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors.
The man has not been identified, but police say he was part of the unhoused community.
Drivers should avoid the area as the investigation continues.
