NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Triton men’s soccer went on the road to CSUN on Saturday, with the match concluding in a 0-0 draw. The Tritons are now 0-1-5 through six Big West matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams had no shortage of shots in the match, with CSUN holding a 15-13 edge in total attempts and a 6-4 advantage in shots on target.

The Tritons started out on the front foot with four shots and a corner kick in the opening 10 minutes. Two of those shots were on target.

Goalkeeper Nic Thiele made his first save of the night in the 16th minute. The redshirt sophomore made two saves in the first half and went on to make six saves in the match.

The Tritons looked to break the deadlock after halftime as Ryan Namdar got a shot on target in the 48th minute. The visitors had one final shot on frame in the 78th. Adam Dunbar had a shot blocked before Gavin Allegaert’s effort was saved by the Matador goalkeeper.

Defender Nate Morgan helped preserve the clean sheet with a header off the line in the dying moments of the match. CSUN forced Thiele into saves in the 85th and 87th minutes, with neither effort able to break through as the game finished 0-0.

QUOTABLE
“It was a very intense game tonight,” head coach Jon Pascale said. “I thought we had some really great moments controlling the game and creating chances. Northridge also threw a lot at us, and I thought we held up well against the challenge. It was a gutsy performance on the road. I am looking forward to getting back at it and prepping for Bakersfield.”
