With millions of views for her viral, humorous home cooking posts at @applesauceandadhd, new cookbook author Jessica Secrest will bring her relatable approach to town in an evening appearance on Jan. 13 in Coronado. Secrest’s debut cookbook, “Of Course It’s Good! Aggressively Delicious Meals Anyone Can Make and Everyone Will Love,” is from Page Street Publishing Co. and will be available for sale.

“From Plate to Page: An Evening with Jessica Secrest,” presented by the Coronado Public Library and independent bookstore Warwick’s, begins at 7 p.m. at  the Coronado Performing Arts Center at Coronado High School, 650 D Ave. The event, with discussion led by Food Network star and cookbook author Melissa D’Arabian, is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Coronado Public Library.

Secrest, a busy mom who was recently featured on “Good Morning America,” has built a wide following for her “hostile humor” and affordable recipes made with low-effort ingredients and techniques. Recipes include The BEST Baked Mac and Cheese, Taco Potato Tot Casserole, Egg Roll in a Bowl, Cowboy BBQ Burgers, Teriyaki Pork, Fried Pickle Quesadillas, Sloppy Joe Fries, and Slow Cooker Spinach Artichoke Dip.

A paid ticket is required to enter, and seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. at the center, directly behind the library.

Ticket options are $10 entry only; $31.60 admission for one person and one cookbook copy at check-in; and $39.83 for admission for two people and one cookbook copy at check-in. Attendees are advised to print out tickets or have the QR code available on a phone.
