Seven months after Trevor Zegras was traded from the Ducks to the Flyers, he exacted some revenge on his former team — and he sure basked in getting even.
Zegras netted two goals on Tuesday night in Philadelphia’s 5-2 win over Anaheim at Xfinity Mobile Arena, and throughout the evening, he took jabs at his ex-squad.
The first barb came after his first score of the night, when he pretended to a pick up a phone with his right hand before slamming it down immediately.

NHL fans were quick to notice the celebration appeared to be an homage to the call Zegras had in June with Ducks brass about his trade to the Flyers.

The next Zegras needle toward Anaheim came during his postgame interview with NBC Sports Philadelphia.
The 24-year-old center was asked how good it felt to perform as well as he did against his old team, and he responded excitedly — and profanely.
“F—king amazing,” he said. “F—king amazing. Oh, yeah.”

Zegras went on to confirm fans’ speculation about his phone celly as well, explaining, “That’s about how quick the phone call was before, so I thought it’d be good.”
Zegras was picked by the Ducks in the first round of the 2019 NHL draft, and his career in Southern California started out promising. But injuries and inconsistent play ultimately led to the Ducks jettisoning him to the Flyers in a trade for center Ryan Poehling and two picks.
Zegras has logged 17 goals and 24 assists so far in his first season with the Flyers.
