Part of the 5 Freeway was closed in northern Los Angeles County after a big rig crash on a day of powerful winds in Southern California.

The crash was reported at about 10:45 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway near Cherry Canyon in the Pyramid Lake area north of Castaic. It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured.

All lanes will be closed until further notice, the CHP said.

The big rig was on its side across lanes.

Details about what led to the crash were not immediately available, but high wind warnings were in effect Wednesday for widespread parts of Los Angeles County. The warnings were expected to continue into the rest of the week for some areas.
