Big rig overturns, two southbound I-5 lanes closed near Vista Del Lago

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — UPDATE (12:17 P.M.): The CHP’s website said the number three and four lanes are open. The number one and two lanes remain closed.

All southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Vista Del Lago are closed after a big rig overturned and blocked all lanes.

The CHP’s website said on Thursday, January 8, at around 10:46 a.m., there was a report of a big rig on its side on southbound Interstate 5 near Cherry Canyon, blocking all lanes.

The website said all lanes are closed. Traffic is being diverted to Highway 138.

CHP Fort Tejon said , “This closure will be in place for an undetermined time so emergency personnel and crews can safely clear the lanes.”
