The Waves last faced the Aztecs on Oct. 9 in Malibu in an 83-59 loss. It will be their 32nd meeting all-time.

In Pepperdine’s last meet they earned a 212.5-79.5 victory against Cal State East Bay but faltered against San Diego State, 162-128.

The Waves earned five victories while in San Diego, Calif. earlier in the week. Jackie Johnson earned another gold finish in what has been a great first year (281.63 in the 3-meter). Sophia Blietz is another strong freshman performer who showed out against the Aztecs and Pioneers. She won the 200 back with a time of 2:06.30.

The Waves will next face rival San Diego Jan. 17. Early attendees will get free themed beach towels as part of the Pool Party promotion.
