Sheryl Ann Nuncio, beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the age of 72, surrounded by her family in Bakersfield, California.

Born July 6, 1953, in Bakersfield to Frank and Faye Mitchell, Sheryl was the eldest daughter of their children. From an early age, she exemplified kindness and faith, nurturing a deep love for Jesus Christ and sharing those values with everyone around her.

In 1976, she married Juan Nuncio, the love of her life. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Juan preceded her in death in 2021 but remained forever in her heart.

A proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sheryl is survived by her children Juanita and husband Mario, Son Nick; Son Anthony and wife Patty; Son Ben and wife Jessica; and Son Jacob; her grandchildren Jacqueline, Alan, Nikki and husband Matthew, Hollie, Bella and husband Triston, Mariska, and Benjamin; and her great-grandchildren Matthew, Hadley, and Avery.

Sheryl was known for her nurturing spirit, steadfast faith, and generosity. She offered comfort and encouragement to all in need, and her home was a place of prayer and Christian music. Her warmth and laughter brightened every room, and her legacy of compassion will live on in the lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Gateway Praise Center, 604 Main St., Maricopa, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow.

Sheryl will be dearly missed and remembered for her faith, love, and the light she brought into the world. She is now at peace, embraced by God’s grace and reunited with her beloved husband.
