BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — California State University, Bakersfield Athletics announced the Roadrunner Baseball’s Leadoff Dinner will take place on Feb. 11, 2026, at the Legends Lounge & Event Center, featuring Cy Young Award-winner and former Dodger Eric Gagne.

The annual fundraising event, previously known as the Hot Stove Dinner, will feature former Cy Young Award-winning closer Eric Gagne as the special guest and keynote speaker. Gagne, who began his 10-year Major League Baseball career with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1995, became the National League saves leader and won the NL Cy Young Award in 2003. He also made three all-star appearances and won a World Series with the Boston Red Sox in 2007.

Jordon Banfield, head coach of the CSUB baseball team, stated, “I couldn’t be more excited that the season is getting close, and with that, we want to continue to give our players opportunities to interact with the community and Cal State baseball supporters. He added, “As we continue to work to build this program into one that everyone is proud of, the new Leadoff Dinner format should offer more people an opportunity to attend, as it’s right before Opening Day and offered at a reduced price this year.”

The event will include dinner, an open bar for attendees 21 and over, and a silent auction. Attendees will also have the chance to learn about the 2026 CSUB Baseball team ahead of its season. The event is set to start at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at GoRunners.com/Leadoff, with options for individual tickets or full table sponsorships, including personalized autographs from Eric Gagne.
