A former Fresno Bee illustrator was allegedly killed Thursday night at his home, and the suspect arrested is his son, according to police.
Officers responded to a home at 8:10 p.m. in the area of N. Barton and E. Quincy avenues regarding a fight.
The caller, identified by police as 69-year-old Perry Michael Huffman, told the dispatcher that he was in a fight with another man at the home.
Police said Perry M. Huffman peacefully exited the home as officers arrived and he was detained.
Officers then located 90-year-old Perry Leon Huffman unresponsive on the ground.
Police said it appeared the victim had severe trauma to his body. He was pronounced dead.
Detectives determined that the suspect is the victim’s son, and he was visiting from out of state.
Perry Leon Huffman was a Fresno Bee staff artist from 1963 to 1995.
