Eli Tomac led every lap in his Monster Energy AMA Supercross debut on the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing 450 SX at the 2026 season opener at Anaheim Stadium. Ken Roczen finished second on his Twisted Tea Suzuki RM-Z450, taking P2 from Jorge Prado on lap 4 of 20, and never looking back. Roczen finished 1.5 seconds behind Tomac and 27 seconds ahead of Prado on the slick and tight Anaheim 1 track. It was Prado’s first Supercross podium and his return to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.

Hunter Lawrence sat in P5 for most of the race on his Honda HRC Progressive CRF450R. However, he was able to take P4 from Jason Anderson on the penultimate lap. Anderson, riding for Twisted Tea Suzuki for the first time, filled out the top 5.
Ken Roczen, P2.
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing teammates Justin Cooper and defending AMA Supercross Champion Cooper Webb had to overcome early problems. Cooper was in P12 after the first lap, after having transferred to the Main Event via the LCQ. Cooper worked his way up to P6.
Jorge Prado, P3.
After leading the red-flagged first Main Event, Webb got off to a P9 restart and worked his way up to P6 by lap 9. However, a fall on lap 15 put him back to P8. Webb was able to repass a struggling Chase Sexton. Webb took P7, and Sexton finished in P8. Sexton fell and ran off the track multiple times on his KX450 in his Monster Energy Kawasaki debut.

Dylan Ferrandis, in the first 450SX race for the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing team, finished in P9 on the Desmo450 MX, and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Aaron Plessinger rounded out the top 10. Plessinger took a brutal hit in the heat race from Webb, injuring Plessinger and sending him to the LCQ.

The first attempt at the Main Event was halted on the first lap when Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati Factory Racing’s Justin Barcia landed on Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Malcolm Stewart when Stewart missed a jump. Stewart was carted off the field and could not restart, while a conscious Barcia was taken to the hospital after lying motionless on a berm. Early reports from the hospital indicate Barcia is alert, and able to feel and move his limbs.
