SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An early morning house fire in the Oak Park neighborhood left one person dead and a firefighter with a minor injury.
The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the 2900 block of 43rd Street around 2:50 a.m. on Monday.
Fire and heavy smoke came from a unit on the property, spreading into the main home.
During the incident, first responders found a person with burns, and the individual was declared deceased, the agency’s spokesperson, Captain Justin Sylvia, told ABC10. A firefighter also suffered an injury to the calf.
The cause of the incident is under investigation, and the identity of the deceased person remains unknown.
