(FOX.COM) — A man is dead after a vehicle vs pedestrian crash occurred in the Arden-Arcade area on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers responded to the area of Arden Way and Heritage Lane for a vehicle vs pedestrian crash. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital after sustaining serious injuries.

Later, Sacramento police stated that the pedestrian died at the hospital from his injuries.
Due to the incident, SPD said the police department’s detectives from its Major Collisions Investigation Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded to take over the investigation.

At this time, traffic may be impacted as crews continue to canvas the area and interview witnesses, SPD reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after the next of kin have been notified, officials said.
