OAKLAND CO., Mich. (WILX) – Nearly one year after a five-year-old boy was killed in a hyperbaric chamber near Detroit, the four defendants are back in court.
The defendants were workers at the healthcare facility where the explosion occurred.
Tamela Peterson, Jeffery Mosteller, Gary Marken and Aleta Moffitt were charged in connection with the explosion.
Five-year-old Thomas Cooper was killed in the explosion at the Oxford Center in Troy in January, 2025.
His mother was also hurt in the blast
The court is determining if a crime was committed, and if there’s enough evidence to send the case to trial.
Peterson, the Oxford Center’s founder and CEO, alongside the Center’s safety manager, are facing charges of second degree murder.
