VIDEO: One person is dead and another was rescued after an early morning house fire in Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.
SFD said that crews responded to reports of a single story house fire around 3 a.m. on Monday in the area of 43rd and 4th avenue. Officials arrived to find that a smaller unit butted up against the home was what caught on fire. The fire also caused powerlines to arc up against the home.
Crews entered the home where they found one person dead and rescued another. A firefighter was also injured in the recovery and rescue, and was taken to the hospital.
“The investigation is going to take quite some time, and that’s due to the time of night,” Captain Justin Sylvia with the Sacramento Fire Department said. “Typically, when we see these in the dark, we want to wait for daylight to come around so investigators have a better understanding of what actually took place.”
