BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Paul Parra, 46, made his first court appearance after being accused of stabbing a man to death Sunday morning at a Motel 6 in northwest Bakersfield.

Parra pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

Deputies discovered the victim’s body on Sunday morning at the motel, located at 5241 Olive Tree Court.
The victim has not yet been identified. Parra was arrested at around 8 p.m. that day in the area of Brundage Lane and Chester Avenue.
