If local political trends continue on their current trajectory, San Francisco voters can expect to see nearly every hot-button issue on one ballot or another this year.

In June, high-profile Democrats are set to square off for Nancy Pelosi’s seat, and special elections for the District 2 and 4 Board of Supervisors’ seats could test how much heat remains from the Joel Engardio recall.

In November, half of the supervisor and school board seats will be in play, and the public defender’s race could spotlight discussions about civil rights and public safety. Watch for measures that could bring taxes to support public transit and bonds for affordable housing.

It’s not to early to start asking: Which candidates will be on your ballot? And which issues do you want to know more about?
