A suspect was detained following a standoff with law enforcement at a South Natomas neighborhood,

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Police activity intensified Tuesday night in a South Natomas neighborhood as officers searched for a suspect wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Sacramento police set up a perimeter in the 2800 block of Unity Point Avenue while searching for a suspect who is believed to be possibly armed with a knife. Authorities urged residents to avoid the area as officers continued their search.

As the situation progressed, SWAT officers and Crisis Negotiators were brought in to assist. 

Police said the suspect was safely detained by SWAT officers. 

No injuries have been reported, and police have not released further details about the suspect.
