Someone or multiple people drove all over the grass at two parks in East San Jose, leaving behind a trail of damage.
The vandalism occurred overnight Monday at Fowler Creek Park and Mount Pleasant Park, according to San Jose Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services.
“Initial estimates, including the labor associated with fixing the destroyed grass, is reaching up to $10,000,” said Amanda Rodriguez with the San Jose parks department. “In a department where our resources are already stretched thin, it’s pretty devastating.”
Crews will have to level the dirt and plant new grass.
