Police are investigating an “unattended death” in the Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve, located near UC Berkeley’s Clark Kerr Campus, according to UCPD Sgt. Jacob Westlie.

An unattended death is when a dead body is discovered by itself, according to Kendra Strey, communication and outreach manager for the East Bay Regional Park District.

The East Bay Regional Park District Police Department is currently investigating the case.

Strey said no further information is available for release. According to the WarnMe, there is no current threat to public safety.

Around 8 a.m. today, the campus community received a WarnMe alert to avoid the Clark Kerr volleyball courts due to police activity on the scene.
