Oakland Thrive Restaurant Quest: The Good Egg Breakfast Cafe in Oxford
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Jan. 14, 2026)
Oxford, MI – The quest to try every restaurant in Oakland County continues with a visit to The Good Egg Breakfast Cafe in Oxford. The Good Egg has both breakfast and lunch options in a downtown Oxford location that is great for carryout or dining in.
For my review, I tried both, starting with an order of Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberries, and a side of Dearborn Ham. The pancakes were hot and fluffy, and the ham was a classic Metro Detroit touch.
For lunch I had an amazing burger. The Biggie Max Burger had two Angus smash burgers with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, onion and special sauce, and came served with fries.
Other breakfast choices include omelettes like the Gravy Train (made with Detroit sausage, caramelized onions, peppers, American cheese, topped with sausage gravy), the Good Morning Omelette (made with chicken, spinach, tomato, and feta), and the B-52 (made with Hickory smoked bacon, avocado, cheddar, mushroom, sour cream). The Good Egg also has Hash Bowls. For example, the St. Patrick’s Hash features Wigley’s Eastern Market corned beef, caramelized onions, bell pepper, breakfast potatoes, and eggs.
Lunchtime choices include sandwiches like the Better BLT, the Turkey Club, the Classic Ham Sandwich and more. Salads include the Greek, Cobb, and BBQ Chicken Salad. Another local company is featured in the beverage section – Guernsey milk and chocolate milk!
With a bright space with comfy seating and views of the bustling historic downtown, The Good Egg is a popular Oxford destination. Check them out at 51 S. Washington Street. They don’t have a website, but their menu can be found on DoorDash.
