Strong gas odor forces Night Court cancellation at Kern County Superior Court on Jan. 14

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Night Court at the Kern County Superior Court is canceled on Wednesday night due to a strong smell of a gas leak.

The Kern County Fire Department notified the Kern County Superior Court of a gas leak near Mohawk Street in Bakersfield.

In a release, it said due to the strong smell around Traffic Court, Night Court is cancelled.

All cases scheduled tonight, January 14, 2026, will be continued. Notification of new dates will be sent out.
