Several safety crews including the Sacramento Fire Department, Consumnes Fire, Sacramento Police and the California Highway Patrol are on scene in the area of Bercut Drive and Summit Tunnel Avenue.

Officials are looking to determine if a possible body may be buried beneath what appears to be a man-made underground tunnel or living space. After digging through, crews seem to have uncovered items like blankets, clothing and more.

Authorizes say a search dog was brought in to sniff for human remains, but so far, nothing has been found. Crews continue to dig deeper, uncovering more personal items including blankets, clothing, and even a large section of fencing.

Investigators are continuing their search efforts underground as they try to figure out what exactly lies beneath the surface.

This is an ongoing investigation.
