A woman has died at the hospital after being shot early Thursday, according to a Sacramento Police Department spokesperson. Just after 1:15 a.m. officers responded to the area of A Street and Ahern Street for reports of a shooting. They found a woman there who’d been shot at least one time and transported her to the hospital, officers said.Officials announced just before 4:45 a.m. that she’d died from her injuries. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have blocked off the scene as they begin investigating. They expect to be there for several hours and ask the public to avoid the area.
