BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Deputies are searching for a suspect of domestic violence after the suspect escaped with a friend earlier Sunday, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in the 2300 block of Center St. in Bakersfield on Oct. 19, 2025.

During the investigation, it was learned the suspect of domestic violence fled the scene in a car with his friend.

While driving away, the friend fired a gun several times, according to deputies. No injured people were found or reported as a result of the gunshots.

Deputies continued the investigation, and served search warrants in the 8300 block of Brundage Ln.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
