La Mesa’s Environmental Services Division noted that the city of La Mesa contracts with the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition to provide bicycle education events and webinars for residents throughout the year.
In 2025, La Mesa hosted eight bicycle-related events, including safety-focused webinars and guided in-person rides, which were designed to help residents build confidence in their biking skills.
La Mesa plans to continue offering these types of educational opportunities.
According to La Mesa’s ESD, the upcoming webinar is designed for cyclists of all experience levels who want to build their skills and knowledge.
The city scheduled the webinar after the holidays to support community members who may have recently received a new bike or e-bike. Cycling experts from the San Diego Bicycle Coalition will cover the fundamentals of navigating La Mesa by bike or e-bike, including safety best practices, applicable laws, local street and infrastructure navigation, and understanding signs, signals, and communication.
Seminar participants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the event.
