FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno Area Express (FAX) is making it easier for locals to get around at night with shorter wait times and expanded route coverage.

City officials say the service upgrades started on Jan. 12, 2026.

Riders on FAX Night Service will now wait just 30 minutes between buses, down from the previous 60 minutes, cutting travel delays in half and offering a more reliable option for evening trips.

In addition to faster service, FAX is expanding two major routes to key destinations:

Night Route 38 now reaches River Park Shopping Center in North Fresno, connecting riders to one of the area’s most popular retail and entertainment hubs.

Route 22 extends into Fancher Creek Shopping Center in Southeast Fresno, improving access to new housing, dining, and shopping options.

“These enhancements are part of our continued effort to provide safe, dependable, and efficient transit options for all Fresno residents,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer. “By reducing wait times and expanding service to key destinations, we’re making it easier for riders to get where they need to go—whether for work, school, shopping, or entertainment.”

FAX encourages riders to check updated schedules and route maps on its website.
