Los Angeles-based chain Randy’s Donuts will open its second location in the Fresno-Clovis area next week, nearly a year after signing a lease for the highly anticipated expansion.

The new store at 1195 Shaw Ave., Suite 101 — in a former Rita’s Italian Ice space just north of Sierra Vista Mall — will celebrate its grand opening Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 6 a.m. to noon with free glazed raised doughnuts for all visitors. The first 100 people in line will also receive a free Randy’s Donuts Clovis T-shirt, according to an announcement on social media Thursday.

“Come early, bring your donut crew, and help us kick off Clovis the sweetest way possible,” the franchise posted.

The Shaw Avenue location is the second of three known stores in the pipeline by franchise ownership group GLE Confections, LLC. The first opened near Fresno State in April 2025, featuring more than 60 varieties of doughnuts. A third location near Palm and Bullard avenues is still in development and expected to open later this year.

GLE Confections had previously announced plans to open around a dozen locations in the Central Valley.

The continued expansion signals growing confidence in the Central Valley market for the iconic brand, which was originally founded in Inglewood in 1951. Randy’s is world famous for its 32-foot tall doughnut sign — featured in movies and shows including Iron Man 2, 2012 and Futurama — and the Fresno-Clovis locations feature a scaled-down replica of the landmark.

The chain now has more than 50 locations operating or in development, mostly in California but also in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and New York City. International franchises operate in South Korea, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Japan and the United Arab Emirates, according to the Randy’s Donuts website.
