FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Two 15-year-olds were taken into custody after leading California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase through Fresno early this week.

The California Highway Patrol says officers spotted a stolen vehicle near Ashlan and Valentine avenues in northwest Fresno.

When they tried to pull the car over, the driver took off, leading officers on a chase through city streets and onto Highway 99.

Officials say the chase reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour before the suspects crashed while exiting at Adams Avenue.

Both teens, identified as active gang members, were arrested at the scene.

CHP says the incident highlights its commitment to keeping communities safe, recovering stolen vehicles, and holding both juveniles and adults accountable before tragedies occur.
