Is X down? Thousands report outage on the social media site – NBC Los Angeles

X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, went down for tens of thousands of users Friday morning.

More than 78,000 outages were reported as of 10:16 a.m. ET, according to Downdetector. By 12:32 p.m., that number was just over 4,000.

The outages were reported across the U.S., including major cities like New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas, according to Downdetector.

X experienced another outage earlier this week with 24,000 users reporting that the site was down on Tuesday.
