OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) — Four vehicles were involved in a collision on Sunday afternoon in Oakland and a motorcyclist was killed, the California Highway Patrol said.
At about 2:30 p.m., CHP officers arrived on eastbound Interstate Highway 80 west of Powell Street on a report of a collision, Officer AS Zeid said.
According to the CHP, a Honda motorcycle, a Toyota Prius, a Tesla model S and a Subaru Crosstrek were involved in a collision which killed the motorcyclist. As of Sunday night, the cause of the crash was still under investigation.
All involved remained at the scene and cooperated and drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, Zeid said.
The crash shut down three lanes of the highway for a little over an hour.
