Wizards vs. Kings preview, prediction

Although the Wizards and Kings are separated by one win this season, they are currently in different spots. The Kings are on a three-game winning streak, their longest of the season, with victories over the Rockets, Lakers, and Knicks. With Domantas Sabonis out, the Kings have been led by their veteran trio of Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Russell Westbrook.

Although DeRozan is averaging 19.1 points per game this season, he has scored 27 and 32 points in his last two contests. Westbrook is coming off a performance of 19 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds in the Kings’ last game against the Knicks. Before that, Westbrook scored 22 points along with seven assists and five rebounds against the Lakers.

The Wizards will be without Trae Young, Tristan Vukcevic, Bilal Coulibaly, and Khris Middleton against Sacramento. Washington has a ton of young talent with Alex Sarr, Kyshawn George, and Tre Johnson, but they lack consistency. Washington has lost four straight games, with each one coming by at least 14 points. The Wizards’ last victory came against the Orlando Magic on January 6. This season, Washington is 4-16 on the road and has lost its last three games away from home.

Wizards vs. Kings, best bet

Even though the Kings have had a rough season, they have started their current home stand 3-0 and have beaten three playoff teams. All three of their latest victories have come by at least eight points. With Westbrook, LaVine, and DeRozan, the Kings have shown they still have a ton of upside, even though they don’t have the best record this season.

Best bet: Sacramento Kings -7.5 (-110)
