BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A search warrant led deputies to allegedly find several guns and the arrest of a 19-year-old man. It comes after deputies allegedly found shell casings near a house party in the outskirts of Lamont.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said on January 14, 2026, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Lamont Substation responded to a report of shots fired near Weedpatch Highway and Kam Avenue in the northern outskirts of Lamont.

During the investigation, deputies found a large party at a home in the 8400 block of Kam Avenue.

KCSO said deputies found fresh spent shell casings and obtained a search warrant for the property.

The search of the property revealed a concealed AK-47 rifle and a 1911-style handgun consistent with the spent shell casings found by deputies, according to KCSO. Two additional handguns and numerous rounds of live ammunition were also seized.

19-year-old Cliserio Urias was arrested and booked into the Lerdo Justice Facility for discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, illegal possession of an assault weapon, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that discharging firearms in a negligent manner poses a serious risk to community safety.
