Oak Park unveils revitalized Sol Garden

THEM TO EXPAND THEIR SUPPORT. ANOTHER RIBBON CUTTING WAS ALSO HELD TODAY FOR THE NEW AND IMPROVED OAK PARK SOUL GARDEN. SEVERAL DOZEN LEADERS CAME TOGETHER TO HELP OF DOZENS OF DONORS, I SHOULD SAY, TO REVITALIZE THIS SPACE. ABOUT $193,000 IN DONATIONS LAST YEAR HELPED MAKE ALL OF THIS POSSIBLE, AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS CAN GARDEN RIGHT THERE IN THE PLOTS. THEY’LL HAVE EASY ACCESS TO FRESH PRODUCE. THIS MEANS EVERYTHING TO THIS COMMUNITY, THIS GARDEN SPACE. BEFORE WAS JUST A LITTLE BIT UNDERUTILIZED, AND THE COMMUNITY OF OAK PARK HERE, COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO LIVE WITHIN THE NEIGHBORHOOD ARE ABLE TO COME HERE. THEY’RE ABLE TO PRACTICE GARDENING SKILLS, ESPECIALLY IF THEY DON’T HAVE A GARDEN SPACE, A YARD. THEY GET ACCESS TO FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES. WELL, THIS IS LEADERSHIP.
