Williamina (Ina) Berrisford
OBITUARY
Williamina (Ina) Berrisford died on August 16, 2025 in Palm Springs, California at the age of 97. She was born to parents Jean and Peter Garrity on August 10, 1928 in Glasgow, Scotland. She met and married John Berrisford in Evansville, Indiana. Ina had one daughter, Cassie, and became a naturalized citizen. The family moved to Southern California in 1953. She was a resident of Long Beach for 51 years, Desert Hot Springs 15 years and Cathedral City for one year and three months. She worked for Pacific Press in Vernon, California for nine years, then became a homemaker and played golf regularly. Golf was a passion of hers, which led to traveling with John to England, Scotland and Hawaii. In later years, she worked at Gottchalks Department Store for nine years and travelled with her daughter to Scotland, France and Italy.
Ina was preceded in death by her husband John, in 2009, four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, their cat, Ella, five nieces and their families, two nephews and their families and many friends and neighbors.
A Memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Bay Shore Community Congregational Church, 5100 The Toledo, Long Beach, California.
