More than a day after a husband, wife and daughter were found shot to death inside a Lakewood home, there has been an outpouring of support from the community, a relative told NBC Los Angeles.
The shooting was reported Thursday at around 8 a.m. on Lorelie Avenue near South Street, the LA County Sheriff’s Department said.
Jorge Fuentes, Hector Lionel Alfaro’s brother-in-law, said neighbors and family instantly reached out to help them through this difficult time.
“All the other family members that showed up, they were hosting us, providing their home for whatever needs we had,” Fuentes said. “It’s been a lot of reaching out by friends and family to support us through this difficult time.”
Candles, flowers and a sign were placed in front of the family’s home.
“It’s hard to process,” Fuentes said. “It’s pain, anger, hard to understand how a person that’s supposed to be a protector and a father to those girls would have done something so hideous.”
Fuentes asked the community to respect the family’s privacy as they try to process what happened.
