A 22-year-old Anaheim man has been arrested and charged for allegedly making death threats against Vice President J.D. Vance during his visit to Disneyland last year, federal prosecutors said Friday.

Marco Antonio Aguayo is accused of posting threatening comments on Disney’s Instagram page on the same day Vance and his family visited the theme park.

Aguayo is charged with making threats against the president and successors to the presidency, according to the Department of Justice. He is expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday in Santa Ana.

“Pipe bombs have been placed in preparation for J.D. Vance’s arrival,” Aguayo allegedly wrote on July 12, 2025.

The DOJ claims Aguayo posted another comment that said: “It’s time for us to rise up and you will be a witness to it.”

“Good luck finding all of them on time there will be bloodshed tonight and we will bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians,” a third comment said.

Prosecutors said law enforcement visited Aguayo at home later that day.

“He surrendered his telephone to law enforcement, who observed the three threatening messages left concerning the Vice President,” the DOJ said in a statement.

If convicted as charged, Aguayo could face five years in federal prison.
