WE FOUND TIMOTHY BUSFIELD HAS BEEN NAMED ON THOSE TAX DOCUMENTS IN EIGHT OF THE YEARS SINCE 2001. THAT YEAR IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE BECAUSE IN A STATEMENT THIS WEEK, THE THEATER TOLD US MR. BUSFIELD HAS NOT HAD ANY ROLE IN THE ORGANIZATION SINCE 2001. HE IS NOT INVOLVED IN OUR CURRENT OPERATIONS, STAFF LEADERSHIP OR PROGRAMING, ALTHOUGH HE IS LISTED AS AN EMERITUS BOARD MEMBER, HE HAS NOT PARTICIPATED IN THEATER GOVERNANCE OR ATTENDED A BOARD MEETING SINCE THAT TIME. TAX FILINGS FROM 2001 SHOW BUSFIELD WAS LISTED AS AN ARTISTIC DIRECTOR IN 2002, LISTED AS PRODUCER AND ACTOR, AND IN 2003 A FOUNDER, THEN IN TAX RECORDS. FROM 2020, BUSFIELD IS LISTED AS A FOUNDER FOR B STREET THEATER. THE DOCUMENT SHOWS HE AVERAGED TWO HOURS A WEEK ON THE ORGANIZATION. SAME TITLE WAS LISTED IN 2021, SPENDING AN AVERAGE OF THREE HOURS A WEEK ON THE ORGANIZATION. IN 2022, BUZZFEED WAS LISTED AS A FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR EMERITUS, AVERAGING TWO HOURS A WEEK, AND IN 2023 NAMED AS FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR EMERITUS, BUT RECORDING NO HOURS. WE REACHED OUT TO THE B STREET THEATER AGAIN TO ASK FOR CLARIFICATION AS TO WHY BUSFIELD IS LISTED ON THOSE TAX DOCUMENTS AS HAVING A ROLE WHEN THEY SAY HE HASN’T PLAYED A ROLE IN THE ORGANIZATION SINCE 2001. THEY’RE STANDING BY THEIR ORIGINAL STATEMENT AND EVENTUALLY SAID, NO COMMENT.
