MALIBU — Back in action against a Southern California rival, the San Diego women’s swimming and diving team put together a solid team performance in their meet against Pepperdine on Saturday afternoon.

As a team, San Diego earned seven first place finishes in a full day of events for both swim and dive.

Sydney Wilson had a fantastic performance for USD as she came in first place in three different events racing in the 500 freestyle, 400 individual medley, and in the 1,650 freestyle to cap off a tremendous day of racing.

Not to be out done, Alison Diehl, Skylar Bruner and Gwendolyn Smith each turned in a first place performance in their race at Pepperdine.

On the diving side, Brooke Blaylock had a nice day as she came in second place in the three meter dive, and followed that up with a third place finish in the one meter dive in Malibu.
