FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — A man has died after the pickup truck he was driving collided with a semi-truck on Clovis Avenue near Highway 99. It happened around 7:30 Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, visibility in the area was low due to dense fog.
The semi was heading north on Clovis Avenue when the driver tried to make a turn near Golden State Boulevard. That’s when the pickup truck, going south on Golden State, slammed into the semi.
The collision caused the truck cab to become stuck beneath the semi’s trailer. The truck and trailer caught fire, with black smoke rising from the wreckage.
The driver of the pickup truck died from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
