Man and dog killed in East Hollywood house fire, LAFD says

EAST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A man and his dog were killed in a house fire in East Hollywood on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD says crews responded to the house fire just after 3 p.m. on North Kenmore Avenue near Fountain Avenue. Officials said fire was showing from one room in the residence.

After receiving reports of a possible trapped person, firefighters searched the residence and found a 53-year-old man and a dog. They were both pronounced dead.

Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control approximately 22 minutes after the initial 911 call, according to LAFD. Investigators are now working to determine a cause.
