FRESNO, Calif.—Darcy Spark scored a season-high seven goals as the No. 12 San José State women’s water polo team lost a tightly contested match to No. 7 Fresno State, 15-14 in overtime, Sunday afternoon in the team’s final match at the Polopalooza.

Spark scored her seven goals on 11 shots taken.
She scored four times in the second quarter, but her second goal in the third quarter gave SJSU a 12-11 lead.
Rose Jensen scored four times in the match, no one goal more important than the one she scored with 55 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score at 13-13 and send the match to overtime.
Bridget Cranley scored the team’s only goal in the second overtime period to tie the match at 14-14.
The Spartans held Fresno State scoreless in the third quarter and the first overtime period.

UP NEXT – San Jose State competes at the Brigitte Donner Daws Memorial Invitational, hosted by California, on January 24 and 25. The Spartans open the tournament with a rematch against the Bulldogs on the 24th at 11 a.m., and face UC Davis the same day at 6:30 p.m.
