Southern California shooting that killed 3 believed to be murder-suicide

A triple fatal shooting in Lakewood on Thursday appears to have been a murder-suicide.

Police believe that the shooting in the 5800 block of Lorelei Avenue just before 8 a.m. that day was perpetrated by Hector Lionel Alfaro, 52, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Alfaro allegedly shot his 48-year-old wife and 17-year-old daughter before turning the weapon on himself. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Alfaro’s 19-year-old daughter, who was shot at but unharmed, reported the incident, the Times added.

No motive for the attack has been disclosed.
