Around 1 a.m. on Jan. 18,  police attempted to stop the driver of a white Dodge Ram in the area of Beach and Westminster boulevards for an unspecified vehicle code violation when the driver fled, leading to the pursuit, Westminster police Watch Commander Andy Stowers said.

During the chase, the patrol car crashed into an uninvolved car in the area of Beach Boulevard and Ball Road in Anaheim, news video from the scene showed. Both the officer and the civilian had minor injuries, according to Stowers.
