The owner of an Orange County handbag boutique is hoping police can capture the burglars who took about $200,000 worth of merchandise from her store.
The break-in at the Bella Abby & Ava Boutique in Newport Beach, 2436 West Coast Highway, was reported Sunday morning, the Newport Beach Police Department told KTLA.
Jennifer Sprenger, who founded the store about six years ago, said the culprits were effective in targeting high-end items.
“They really wiped out the whole cabinet that had Chanels,” she told KTLA’s Chip Yost. “It’s like they went directly for the Chanel cabinet. And then they did take some Louis Vuittons, and they took a couple Hermes pieces and then they took all the jewelry. So they were selective. There’s no doubt about it, they were selective.”
Sprenger added that the theft “makes me really sad.”
“I really want the people to be caught.”
She’s hoping surveillance images of the burglars and their vehicles will prompt someone to come forward with information.
“We do want the public’s help … We want the help, please,” she said.
