FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A popular breakfast spot in northeast Fresno served its final pancakes and eggs Benedict today.
Even the cold and thick Valley fog could not keep people away from Benaddiction this morning.
Customers bundled up and waited in long lines outside for one last chance at the table.
Inside the restaurant, the mood was festive with loud music playing as servers filled warm mugs with coffee and cold glasses of orange juice.
Benaddiction began as a downtown Fresno food truck in 2013, then opened a brick-and-mortar location at Bullard and Marks before moving to a larger space at Maple and Behymer in 2023.
The owners say they have been touched by the outpouring of love and support for their small business but are ready to move on.
“I’ve had a long 13 years. I’m tired. It’s been really nice this past week. We’ve broken a record every day. Yesterday was the busiest day we ever had. And you know we’re going out strong today,” says owner James Caples. “We’ve been real busy and it’s been nice.”
Caples says he is unsure what will come next but plans to rest for a while. He encourages residents to continue supporting small businesses.
