DOWNTOWN FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — An annual event brings together the nurses and families of the neonatal intensive care unit at Community Regional Medical Center.
Action News was in the neighborhood in Downtown Fresno as CRMC hosted its All-Star Game for families whose tiny miracles were once patients inside the NICU.
The celebration featured a photo booth, games, activities for the entire families and food trucks.
“This is the future. This is our community. This is why we do this. These folks are valued members of our community. Their children are the future, so it’s critical that we provide this kind of opportunity to show them how much they mean to us,” said Diana Cormier, a clinical nurse at CRMC’s NICU.
Planning for next year’s event is already underway, with a portion of the proceeds from the food trucks benefiting the NICU and a future celebration for NICU nurses and families to reunite.
