San Diego has lost one of its great hosts, Paul Dobson.
The longtime owner and host of Dobson’s Bar and Restaurant in Downtown San Diego has died at the age of 82.
Dobson opened his signature restaurant in 1983 and turned it into a hub for lawyers, politicians and dealmakers. Guests included Oprah, Muhammed Ali and Donald Trump.
Dobson opened and shaped restaurants across San Diego for decades. He once said his secret was staying pleasant, putting your ego away and giving the customer what they want, even when they don’t deserve it.
