American tennis star Sebastian Korda will play in next week’s Better Buzz Coffee San Diego Open at the Barnes Tennis Center.

Korda, who has been ranked as high as No. 15 in the ATP rankings, accepted a wild-card invitation to the event. The 100-level men’s ATP Challenger and women’s 100-level ITF World Tennis Tour event starts Monday in Point Loma.

The 25-year-old Korda, a native of Bradenton, Fla., made the Australian Open quarterfinals in 2023. He has also made deep runs at both the French Open and Wimbledon.

“We are thrilled to have a talented player like Sebastian Korda join our player field as a wild card,” said San Diego Open co-tournament director Ryan Redondo. “Sebastian is an exciting player to watch and fans at Barnes Tennis Center will have a great time watching him make a run for the title.”
