Another record was broken in the Central Valley skies last year with more than 2.75 million passengers served at Fresno Yosemite International Airport, up nearly 3% over 2024.

The announcement caps a pivotal 12-month period at Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) that included the opening of the $150 million international terminal expansion earlier this month the introduction, expansion or return of service to locales including Chicago, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Dallas.

FAT has experienced record passengers every year since 2020, when passenger totals fell below 1 million for the first time since 2003 due to the pandemic. In fact, in the last 20 years, FAT has seen passenger totals slide on an annual basis only two other times — in 2009’s great recession when it fell 11.4% to 1.12 million and 2017 when it fell 0.1% to 1.53 million.

“The continued growth in passenger traffic at Fresno Yosemite International Airport reflects our airline partners’ confidence in the region’s strong demand for air travel,” said Interim Director of Aviation Francisco Partida. “As more travelers choose to fly Fresno and fill seats, airlines recognize the need to expand service to meet this growing demand. This growth demonstrates FAT’s emergence as a dynamic travel hub.”

International passenger volumes continued to grow in 2025, with 433,636 travelers flying between Fresno Yosemite International Airport and Mexico, representing a 4% increase over the 416,885 passengers recorded in 2024.

On the cargo operations side, FAT handled over 20 million pounds of cargo in 2025 — about even with 2024.

New dining options will debut in February. Mad Duck and Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant will offer travelers new culinary experiences with a local twist.

Going into 2026, FAT carries its recognition as one of the Top 10 Best Small Airports in the United States by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
